Anywho, Today I thought it would be fun to walk you through my typical day with GIFs that I made! (Curious? You can make your own GIFs with your videos HERE , careful, it’s addicting)

I usually wake up around 9 or 10 naturally. I don’t use an alarm clock, I like my body to wake up when it feels fully rested. I’m not big on every day routines because I like doing different things every day, I’m kind of a free-spirit in that sense, but I do feel there are certain things I need to do everyday to be productive and run a successful business. So this is a basic day to day, but certainly not every day.

My day starts with matcha green tea and toast, sometimes eggs and cheese grits if I feel like cooking that much. When I switched from coffee to Matcha I noticed a HUGE improvement in my mental clarity and focus. One serving of matcha tea is the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regularly brewed green tea because it’s the whole leaf, and has 137 times more antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea. I’m all about getting the most out of one serving so why drink green tea when you can drink matcha?

I usually have coffee once a week now, if that. I used to drink coffee every day for the first year of being an entrepreneur mostly because I often pulled all-nighters because I was getting my business off the ground. If you’re an entrepreneur too, I’m sure you can relate to the hustle. 🙂 At the end of that year, my body said NO MORE. I can always tell even the subtlest hints that my body is not agreeing with my food, usually because they scream at me, lol.

I honestly never liked hot tea. I’m from the south, we drink iced sweet tea. But once I started exploring different options this year, I found that I really loved it when I infused lemon, ginger, honey, and other healthy tinctures in it. I also drink this sleepy tea to help me fall asleep when I’m feeling restless or anxious. It’s the first tea I fell in love with, the smell and taste is invigorating and so relaxing!

Then I sit down to check emails and all my social media first and make a list of my priorities for the day. I check my horoscope from Daily OM, these are super helpful to set intentions for the day. If you’re interested you can get them sent to your inbox daily when you sign up for their mailing list. I’m currently taking one of their courses because they are AWE-some. I also put my to-do list on my google calendar so I can map out what I want to accomplish on what days, when my project deadlines are, and appointments, etc.

I’m all about my salt lamps (not to mention Himalayan salt is the only kind we stock in our kitchen). If you’re not aware of the benefits of salt lamps, Wellness Mama has a great post about it. I tend to be attracted to decor and objects that are beneficial to my health and well being. I always turn this one on while I’m working usually in addition to a candle.

After about an hour of checking all my accounts and replying to emails, I get into client work…Netflix or Pandora is always in the background. My top 3 watching-while-I-work list include: Bob’s Burgers, Big Bang Theory, or Harry Potter. I know, total nerd. 🙂

I usually stop after about 4 hours of work to have lunch and do yoga. On most weekdays I have a vitamin smoothie with my amazing Nutri Bullet. Seriously, what did I do before this thing? It’s a life saver for making fast healthy lunches. I also often eat loaded guacamole with chips for lunch that I also make in my Nutri Bullet.

My yoga routine is so basic. I do a basic flow and lots of hip and chest openers. I’m working slowly on handstands, and by slowly I mean I’ve been working at it for a year with not much progress. Really need to up my game on the more advanced strength building moves but it’s not huge on my priority list. Just doing it every day makes my body feel so much better from sitting most of the time and that’s all that matters to me at this point in my life.

Then back to work for a couple hours til the boy gets off work and I have to start dinner…I usually make something from scratch. We never buy processed food other than natural ingredient frozen pizza sometimes, and even that is rare these days. I’m slowly making the boy healthier without him even realizing it because I make things that ‘resemble’ processed food but are completely natural, mwahahahaha! 😉

Sometimes if it’s a nice day we’ll go to the park and walk or get out for a bit after dinner.

7ish – By this point it’s time to turn up the cozy vibes and relax with my babe. I’m all about warm and comfy surroundings with my blankie, hot tea, candles, “fire place”, and netflix (we don’t feel the need to waste money on cable because we would never watch it).

Instagram and Pinterest are my favorite social media tools so they usually get at least 30 minutes of my attention in the afternoon while I relax. I usually post on Instagram at least once a day because it’s my main form of marketing right now. I also have a group Pinterest board I have to check and filter but I only do this once or twice a week and it’s pretty random. I’m trying to change up my routine to not involve so much technology since I’m on the computer most of the day.

In the evening we usually take a walk on the marina in our backyard. It just started warming up here so we haven’t been able to do this much yet. Our place is still a construction zone because everything is new so working on my patio hasn’t been something that interests me with the noise, but I’m hoping to get some peaceful days out there this summer!

Sometimes if I’m on deadline for a client project, feeling inspired, or in the zone I will get back to work late into the night and sleep in the next day. I never miss my 8+ hours of sleep no matter what time my day ends. Sleep is so important and I’m completely useless without it. I’m naturally a night owl so I generally go to bed late even if I’m not working.

I spend a lot of time reworking things in my business, making new pre-mades for my passive income, or planning goals for the coming days and weeks. And sometimes, like today, I’ll take time to blog. I tried to have a strict plan to only work on my personal projects on Fridays but it didn’t work for me. I find that when I let my creativity flow naturally, I produce my best work. I do however take off on the weekends to be outside. We usually go to one of the state parks and go hiking. In the next month we’ll be ordering kayaks so, that, and fishing, will take up a lot of our weekends this summer. Getting outside and recharging is a must for me. As an introvert and highly sensitive person there are certain things I’ve learned to incorporate into my life to stay healthy and happy.

My MUSTS for life: connecting to nature, spending quality time with the boy, doing yoga, meditating, and eating clean.

Meditation is something that I incorporate into my weeks but not every day. I used to do at least 10 minutes a day but I’ve admittedly been slacking on this. I’m blaming the 5 planet retrograde for my lack of focus. 😉

So as you can see I don’t have a super strict routine. I do what feels natural and what keeps me happy and stress-free. I absolutely love my job and my clients and this really helps my daily practices to just flow. I’m always excited to dive into my projects and design beautiful things. I rarely feel stressed about a project or work anymore. This happened when I decided to be super specific about who I wanted to work with and who I didn’t. I’m picky about who I work with and I never take on a client just because I need the income. This was not always the case but I found out very quickly (literally after 2 nightmare clients) that this wasn’t the way I was going to be able to run my business if I wanted to stay sane. To be a successful entrepreneur you have to find what works for YOU. I find that only accepting client projects that light me up inside is so much healthier for me and creates relationships with my clients instead of anger and resentment. It also creates super happy clients!
